Plan for Change

Too often the system works for big corporations and monopolies, while families, small businesses, and local communities are left with higher bills and fewer choices. This campaign is about drawing a clear line to stand up to these companies, lowering costs for people who do the work, and making smart investments into our future.

To fix this broken system, bold decisions must be made. That means saying no to powerful conglomerates when they are directly harming the communities where we live, and yes to policies that put hard-working people first. It means holding utility companies accountable when costs skyrocket, it means regulating existing Data Centers, and easing the tax burden on small businesses that lay the foundation of our economy. It means facing the housing crisis head-on, creating jobs to rebuild our infrastructure, and making sure no child has to learn on an empty stomach. These are not partisan issues; they are practical ones. And they are long overdue.

Opposing Data Centers

       - Fight for stronger local control so communities have a real say before data centers are approved

        - Support zoning and environmental standards that protect neighborhoods, farmland, and water resources

        - Oppose taxpayer subsidies and utility rate increases that shift the cost of data centers onto residents.

        - Require transparency around energy use, water consumption, and long-term community impacts before approvals are granted.

Holding Utility Companies Accountable

        - Push for stricter oversight of utility monopolies to prevent unfair and unnecessary rate increases.
        - Support reforms that tie utility profits to reliability, performance, and customer protection.
        - Advocate for grid improvements and energy-efficiency investments that lower customers' long-term costs.

Supporting Small Businesses

        - Work to lower tax and fee burdens on small and locally owned businesses.

        - Expand access to state-backed loans and grants for small businesses, not just large corporations.

        - Prioritize small businesses in state purchasing and economic development programs.

Addressing the Housing Crisis

       - Support policies that increase the supply of affordable and workforce housing.
       - Push back on corporate land speculation that drives up rents and home prices.
       - Support protections for renters and first-time homebuyers to help stabilize housing costs.

       - Expand Down Payment Assistance programs across Virginia.

Creating Jobs

       - Invest in infrastructure projects that create local jobs that cannot be outsourced.

       - Expand workforce training and apprenticeship programs tied to real job opportunities.

       - Support job creation that strengthens local economies, not tax giveaways to large corporations.

       - Prioritize hiring local workers on state-funded construction and infrastructure projects.

Investing in our Future

       - Guarantee free school meals so no child has to learn on an empty stomach.

       - Expand and protect solar panel tax credits so families, schools, and small businesses can lower energy costs.

       - Invest in childcare, early education, and family support programs that help parents stay in the workforce.

       - Cap overdraft fees at $5
